The holy war is the story of “Mansoul” an ideal city built in honor of his benevolent creator and leader, King Shaddai. After being deceived by the evil ruler Diabolus, the city rejects the rule of King Shaddai, and falls deep into the swamps of sin and despair. As battles rage against good and evil, redemption of Mansoul only possible through victory Shaddai son, Prince Emmanuel. Bunyan’s allegory is full of clever characters and gripping drama. The Holy War was written in 1682.
